Tumor or abscess on beak/wattle?

Thanks so much for the update, sending y’all good vibes. I’m having trouble getting the antibiotics into my hen… she shakes her head so vigorously and it’s really hard to open her beak. I was putting it in blue berries and raspberries but this morning she wouldn’t eat them, I think she caught on… how are you administering?
I’m in coastal SC

Yes! It looks just the same! We went to the vet Thursday and he prescribed another round of antibiotics, sulfamethoxazole/trimethoprim .5cc twice a day. He said if this didn't work by day 7 we would try a z-pac. He was able to get a smidge of "extract"(blood & cells) with a needle and thinks there's a good chance it's infected. I went back through pics of her and noticed that the discoloration started when she started molting, so I thought it was part of the process, she's little older now. I took her in as soon as I noticed more than the "bruising", but she swelled up pretty quickly.
I hope your treatment helps your girl quickly. Let's keep each other posted, I believe it looks like they are dealing with the same thing! I've done so much searching and yours is the first that identifies. I'll update at the end of the week when her round of meds is done :)
We are in central GA, US.
Do you have any update on your hen? I gave mine smz antibiotics for a week with no good results. The black growth is growing. I hope you’ve had better luck so far

I usually hold them in my elbow, and open the beak by pulling down on the wattles, and give 1/4 ml releasing the wattles, letting them swallow, and repeat.

So sorry I missed your previous messages!
She did not get better. It came to where her beak deformed and couldn't close anymore. She was still active and kept trying to peck but it wasn't working. She was eating/drinking by scooping it into her mouth from the side, which kept kept getting clay/dirt impacted in her beak, we cleaned it out a few times a day so she could have room for her little tongue :/
Sadly, we decided to euthanize her on Wednesday, before she got worse and started suffering more :( She hadn't really lost weight since her last visit, so at I'm glad she wasn't starving. We brought her to our vet, she snuggled into me, it was peaceful.
I'm sorry your girl hasn't gotten better either. Please keep me posted on what happens, I'm really curious to see if they progress the same or if you (hopefully!) figure anything out about what's going on.
Sending good healing vibes your way!

I’m so sorry for your loss.. how sad. Sounds like you did everything for her and kept her comfortable. I don’t suppose you did a necropsy or the vet had any more clear idea of what the problem was after the fact ? My vet prescribed more antibiotics but there’s no pus, it’s not red, it just doesn’t strike me as an infection…
