I didn’t ask who would be billing me for the necropsy, but later wondered if the local vet would be doing that. But she stressed that I could bring the body in or ship it to them overnight. I will need to discuss the other details with my vet, since they probably will charge something.

I just looked at the Ohio Ag website and it says $15 per bird for a backyard flock. But also says no coolant is needed to send the bird. Can’t imagine that’s right.

Yes, I would think that ice packs would be needed. The price just may be increased now. I had always heard that it was 80-100 dollars from others’ posts here. I will let you know if I end up getting one, and let you have the details. I am about 3 hours away from the lab, and I would have to drive the body there, since shipping is a hassle with FedEx being far away as well.
