Turbofan Hova-Bator Picture Window Incubator 1583 and Chicken Egg Turner 1611 Combo

Is this a Good Starter Incubator? What else is needed? Thanks, Scott

I do, but I'm on my first hatch. I didn't add anything to it. I'm on day 22, as of yesterday I had no pipping. I will update you when I can go into the classroom and see them again!

No pips today either :(

I would definitely suggest buying a hygrometer as u think my problem is humidity. Also I didn't calibrate the thermometer, so you might want to buy one and double check the one that comes with your bator. I guess these guys aren't going to make it. The kids in the class are going to be so upset!!

Did you end up getting this model? I just got it and have my 1st hatch in it on day 5 I have 48 eggs in it and I candles 4 eggs tonight 3 outta 4 have veins I did use a weather station and put the small receiver inside to measure humidity and temp besides the thermometer that came with it so well see. If you did get it how did you do with it? I do love the large window so much easier to see and the kids love they can all look in it at the same time with out fighting over which two get to look in the windows lol

No I bought a model from Mills Fleet Farm... but am still very interested in the one you bought. (why did you only candle 4 eggs out of 48? or did I read it wrong?

I bought the Hova-bator 1583 I only candled 4 because its only day 5 I just wanted to see if there was anything going on I will candle them all on day 7 or 10 and try to weed some out if I can. But so far so good I used my mom's lg still air for my first hatch and 0-30 my kids were upset so I went to the local hatchery to pick up a forced air to hopefully have better luck got a used but tested 1583 that they guaranteed for $63 so It was a no brainer. So far so good I'm doing dry incubation this time so we'll see but like I said I have veins so that a good sign. I haven't had to touch the thermostat since I plugged it in It stays a steady 99.3-100.4 and recovers temp and humidity quite well after lifting the lid. I do use my mom's turner from her lg so I don't have to worry about turning. Can't wait to see what hatches out I'll keep ya posted
