Turken Silkies

If they have been together for a while, you likely won't see any fighting. I agree, one does look older than the other. If you want to hatch showgirls from them, you can get them either some regular silkies or more showgirls, although showgirls can be harder to find, but either combination can throw showgirls.

BTW, thanks for the compliment!

They look like a pair.... but.... the "hen" is up in the air for being a hen because of those streamers on the head is a bit concerning. The girls should have a fluff ball on the head that is round. No eggs or crowing? How about the width of the pelvis between the two? It may take 7-8 months for them to start laying eggs to be certain if she is a female. Good luck!

I have to say it looks like to roos

Thanks for the comments, opinions and thoughts - I guess I will just wait and see if anything develops!

The reason I thought that they were a pair was because the large one has a very visable comb - the other one doesn't. :|

DEFINATELY both roos, sorry i know u didn't want to hear that. in the pics there is major streamers and the comb is sticking up. if it was a girl there would be no streamers and the comb would be flat.

there is a younger roo and an older one. the younger one looks to be 9mth old or less and the older one on the right i'd say is about 1-1.5 years old. they won't fight usually if there is no girl in with them and especially if they have kinda grown up together.

I can't quite decide about Showgirls-they are hideously ugly but at the same time somehow appealing. Can't imagine that I'll ever own any though.

I have a hen that just went through her molt and has streamers, she is definitely a hen, I have hatched eggs from her. Sometimes when the crest feathers are growing in, streamers sometimes come in before the rest feathers out. Now, I'm not for sure on these two, but I can say that even females can have streamers, and they look pretty young to me.
