I got this turken from the straight run bin for $.25. Couldn't pass up such a deal on a breed I wanted.

I believe it's 3 weeks old. My barred rock pullet of the same age is more feathered with a similar comb size, but is a little smaller.

I keep thinking girl because it's afraid of everything and hides, but looking at it....

It's so cute! I'm no expert, but that looks like a girl to me as well. I've always wanted a Turken. You're lucky to have her.

congrats on getting a CUTIE!

my experience a vast majority of hatchery turken hens are light buff or orangy like her with the boys being darker or reddish.

Here are some newer pics of my turken, I know that I will know 100% eventually, but I am still curious. Nugget is 5 weeks old now.
