Turken's

Wow! Great pics and insight and thanks for the offer! I will get back to you if I can if not thanks anyways! And just wondering what kind of hen house do you use?

Nava, that dark blue hen is stunning. Wolf, your favorite is very colorful, would like to see pictures once he's grown up...

To the OP, I agree with them- they are great birds. It's very dry and hot at my place.. they are laying like crazy. I also get lots of eggs after their fall molt right thru the winter, spring. Our winters are on the mild side though.

Sounds a lot like our weather! These sound like the ideal birds!

Where are you at? We are in central IL...our air temps have been 100-104/5ish...with heat index of 114 etc...

We specifically did research and chose NN's (turkens) due to the ability to deal with confinement, great layer of lg brown eggs, fantastic in the heat and very hardy for the winters...
:)

Now, our NN Roo, Mr. The King thinks he's all that and a whole shopping cart of chips...but he's ok once youwalk with him while he's hanging upside down from your hands.... <g>

I'm in Northwest Arizona, usually hot all year until we get into winter then it will be fairly cold (for AZ anyway) for about a couple months and then we are right back to summer when it should be spring! But tell you what Arizona's has it's own beauty that's a fact. Looking for some chickens that can take the dog days of summer and the few chilly winter months we have!
