Well, my turkey that we have an aggression problem with outdid himself today--a turkey hunter came on the place to hunt, and our turkey, um, escorted him off. Probably not a very safe activity.

As I posted last night, we have found a lady friend for him, and I will be picking her up Tuesday. We hope she will be a good influence.

My husband says that he hates to sell him (he is a pet, not food) because he really does protect all the smaller birds on the place.

We never had a problem with him being aggressive until we had a terrible dog attack about a month ago, that is what started it. Then he started not trusting anybody except me and my husband, and he especially hates men.

I'm so glad your turkey didn't get shot! I'd be so mad if hunters were prowling around our property and my birds!

urrggh that reminds me I'll have to dress up my gobblers next spring wth "dont shoot me" signs on them or something because the hunters around here are complete doodoo brains... (my dad called in a hunter one year and he almost shot my dad)! Soo it's safe to say that my domestic turkeys will also be hunted (in a fence) if I don't have something to make these blind hunters notice that a. they're in a fence and b. they are domestic. My dad ofcourse was wearing the required florecent orange, but yet he was still stalked and had a barrol of a shot gun pointed directly at him my dad had to stand up and holler "IM NOT A TURKEY!" LOL *I hunt by the way, would love to gobbler hunt but it clashes with my fishin...but I know that you aren't to really stalk turkeys its more of a sit and wait game but some atleast around here get impacient...*

Slap hand to wing with your tom he did a good job and he's lucky he wasn't shot
