I have a female turkey, got her as a gift for Mother’s Day, last year. The past couple of days, when I go out to feed, she has been… I don’t know, not necessarily puffing up, but sort of drops her wings so the tips touch the ground, and spreads them out a bit. She let me pet her this morning when she did it, seemed to even enjoy the petting. I’m just wondering is she is mad at me, suddenly sees me as a threat? I’m not sure why she is suddenly doing that. She usually just keeps her distance, or follows me around. Any ideas?

She is assuming the breeding position and wants to be bred.

Hormones, breeding season is starting.
If she lays down in front of you she is assuming the mating position.
My hens are reestablishing pecking order putting everyone in turmoil
Ohhhhh! Thank you. I havent owned turkeys in the past, so thank you for the info. Love this girl, so just wanted to know what was going on. 🤣
