Turkey Chick With Broken Leg. Help!

My input would be to put it down. That bone would be pretty impossible to heal. Very sorry

I tend to agree with her. Any leg injury on a chicken can take a very long time to heal and that's if the bone is not broken. Not sure if there is much hope for a broken leg.

I had two with femur area fractures... one was a mature hen with a fractured femur and it tried to get it to set for *weeks* before I gave up. Second was a mature 12 pound Muscovy drake, and I think his fracture might have included part of his hip. That I got to set, and he was at the point where he could walk a little, but then he escaped from his cage and re-fractured it.

Doesn't hurt to try, certainly, but mostly, it just doesn't work. If it happens again (hopefully not!), let us know if you're able to do your combo splint idea and how it turns out.
