I have 4 turkey chicks at 3 days old. I have just lost 2 of them due to an unknown illness which they have very suddenly developed.
They were all fine, eating drinking and looked healthy. The 2 that have died stopped eating and weren't too keen on drinking unless forced to do. They then became lifeless and would shut their eyes. They kept opening their mouth as if gasping for air or as if they were too hot. There was however an adequate air supply for them and the temperature was right. Every so often they would spasm for a second or two and then become lifeless again. From noticing they were ill to them dieing took approximately 4-5 hours.

From research i am still unable to identify what the issue was. I thought it could be gape worm due to them keeping opening their mouths however could gape worm form within 3 days of hatching?

Please help as i don't want my other 2 to die if possible
