turkey cocci

I have a tweleve week old turkey hen that is suddently ill. she is lethargic, wont/cant stand. Her breast is sweaty and warm. her poops are white and brown/black they're watery. She is around chickens. Edit: blood spots as well in the poo

I had the same issue with sleepy or droopy turkey poults. Mine were 2 months old. Does it also huddle and are the feathers ruffled? That is coccidiosis. get some sulmet from the feed store. I lost 7 turkeys before I figured it out --they got lethargic then the next day they were dead. I treated the remaining 3 and they are fine.

Well I talked to a lady at the feed store she sent me home with tetramyacin? tetra something or another.

I may be wrong as I'm not in the US so am not familiar with your meds but it sounds like that's an antibiotic which will work fine for respiratory infections but won't do (as far as I know) much for cocci - that's caused by a parasite and you need to treat with something that kills that parasite. Minced fresh garlic and cayenne pepper will help in the interim before you get effective meds.

You've mentioned them running with Chickens, so I'm assuming you're concerned about blackhead - the symptoms are very similar but their stools will be sulphur coloured if blackhead is present. You also need to remember that although it does happen (my own birds have just gotten over blackhead), it's pretty rare.

Alright I have her on corid. I also put Save-a-Chick in the water. Electrolites and vitamens cant hurt right? I also keep her on a ice pack to keep her cool. Any suggestions?

It's not recommended to give vitamins and Corid at the same time. Corid starves the coccidia of thiamine, so you don't want to give extra thiamine with the vitamin mix.

GOOD point . Duh they eat what she eats. I'll take that out. What about just plain electrolites?
