I have a turkey that sounds like it is clearing its throat. Is this normal or an indication it is sick? It has no mucus that i can see and no draining of eyes or anything else I can see wrong. Any help is appreciated.

Is it after eating? The best/first thing to do is run it down and do a close check. Listen to it breath, this may sound creepy but I pretty much put it's beak in my ear. It will be breathing odd because you are holding it but listen for a rasping, weezing , then listen right between it's wings on the back, the lungs are right under the backbone. In the cold and wet months they can get sick like we do.

Only seems to do it if I startle it. When I am in the run with them if I sit down it will come around and eat and check things out okay. The other turkeys all make different sounds when I am around, this one is quite unless as stated I startle it. i will do as suggested. If it is raspy or weesy, what do i give it? how do I treat it?

Well i picked her up today and she was fighting to get away. when she did calm down I think it was because she couldnt breathe. She sounds like she is fighting for air. After a minute or two she recovered but you could still hear her breathing is not clear. Like she has bronchitis. What if anything can I do for her. Can I give her antibiotics and if so what in what strength and anythign else to do for her. Any help would be appreciated.
