I have been given 5 turkey eggs from a friend to incubate. Studying the eggs I notice that 3 are a bit longer & pointer, the other 2 are a little shorter & plumper. They all are from the same turkey hen. Why would this be?
I have them in the incubator cooking & don't want to disturb them. I am only learning about turkeys & don't know much about them.

I set these eggs on 06/10/2015 (Oct 6th 2015) in the incubator. I candled them today & they appear to be all ok. I can see the air bubble & a dark blob(must be the head) with veins running from it through the yolk. I guess that must be normal? Correct me if I am wrong.

If you set those eggs on June 10, 2015 They should have hatched around July 8, 2015. I am assuming that you set the eggs on October the 6th which means they have only been incubating for 4 days. It is highly unlikely that you can tell anything on turkey eggs that have only been incubating for 4 days. Give them another week before you candle them and at that time you should be able to tell if they are actually growing. Seeing a dark blob that isn't the yolk at 4 days probably isn't a good sign.

Good luck.

No I set them 6th Oct 2015, 1 week today.(it's Sunday here) We here in Australia are backwards. We say Day, Month, Year. Sorry I will correct it so you understand better.

Okay its Saturday the 10th here but that still makes it the 11th where you are and that is only 5 days. Five days is really too early to be candling turkey eggs. I personally don't candle my turkey eggs until day 25 but if I was going to candle them earlier I wouldn't candle until at least day 10 and most likely not until day 14. Seeing a dark blob at day five may not be a good sign.

Good luck.
