Turkey Fights

DSC_9796.jpg DSC_9813.jpg DSC_9827.jpg DSC_9830.jpg First one is a white holland cross, the last 2 are the same bird.

The first two are toms and the two in the third picture are hens. I assume the last picture is of the same hen as in the third picture.
Correct again. Thank you! I believe I can tell the differences now. Looks like I will have plenty of Toms but some nice hens as well. Now the decision is who to keep!! Thank you again!

The only time we do anything about their fights is when a tom is so badly beaten and bloodied that he can't defend himself... when that happens, the other toms will kill him. He has to be removed from the flock... usually permanently. We strive to maintain a ratio of one tom to a dozen or so hens.

Once in a while, you end up with an aggressive tom that won't breed, but will attack other toms when they are breeding. He has to be eliminated from the flock.
