I have raised a couple of Bourbon Reds. They are around 9 months. One of them, Miss Prissy, decided to be broody. She would take all the chicken eggs along with the golf balls out of the nest boxes and sit on them. She has done this for about 2 months. I would try to discourage her by taking them all away from her each day. Sometimes twice a day. She FINALLY gave up and snapped out of her broody ways. But now she can barely walk. One leg is really giving her trouble. Do you think she damaged a nerve from sitting so long? Just curious on what your thoughts are. Thanks!

Hard to say. could be spider bite, or muscle wasting, or another injury. Can you be more specific??

I don't believe it is a bite of any kind. I have checked out her leg and don't feel any bumps, scrapes or even swelling. I first thought maybe it was poor circulation (asleep), but now that she is up moving around I've ruled that out. Muscle wasting....don't know. Is that a bacteria? I'm not familiar with that.

This is a for sale page, you might want to post it under the exotics page or the medical and injury section....
