Turkey hen is pacing fence and won't stop calling!

Gotta love this place! She'll probably settle down nicely now

She may want to get out to look for a nesting place, my hen turkeys will sometimes do this as well and there in the same pens for years, but she will get over it and just have to lay her eggs somewhere in the pen she is in..

I posted this in another spot but what I did for my hen was took a old snowmobile windsheild, something for privacy, placed sticks, and a few board scraps in a A shape against the wall, with a grain bag opened up over the top of the boards.
She did enjoy it, would go in and hide.
Perhaps a couple of stacked tires with hay in the bottom, or even leave a couple leaned up against a wall to let her think she is hiding.
Good luck!

No wonder she was pacing, pacing, pacing..........

"I have this egg I need to lay where in the world am I going to put it?"

I imagine to them it's like us having to use the restroom and cannot find a suitable place.

Glad she is content now,
David

Ah that is so true. My hen has a favorite nest box she adores that one box. To her that is her spot to lay her eggs in. She is a kind soul and will share it with the chickens.

Thats great that she is laying eggs, she will keep going back; mine does and she won't lay anywhere else. Just watch out for egg thieves; being so low to the ground I had a pig get in and clean out all my turkeys eggs. ( pot belly)
