My turkey hens are 2 and 3 yrs old and quit laying in Oct. which I didn't think much of as the chickens cut back too, and since this winter I hadn't used heat lamps the chickens kicked back into laying early March....now here it is nearly May and my turkeys haven't produced a single egg.... 1 is a slate, one Narragansett and the other a black Spanish mix that I hatched out the spring before last. Is it notmal for them to go over 6 months with out laying???

How is their weight? Their overall health? Their diet? Are they molting? Any chance they are laying away from the poultry yard in a hidden nest? Mine have been laying since the end of March and they are only 10 months old.

I thought my girl quit laying too Until one day I watched her and she kept flying on top of the coop and there they were a whole pile of eggs and she is still up there I don't know what i am going to do I don't want to move her for the fear she will abandon her nest.I guess I will wait for them to hatch and move her to the ground. I also slipped some duck eggs in there ha ha and I know that they can't fly. She has done this to me since she was old enough to lay. This the first time since I have had her that she at least made her nest in my yard most of the times in has been in a neighbors yards thank goodness they don't complain about her she is a traveling bird visiting all the neighbors begging for snacks

When did they start laying, the last few years?

They began laying late fall the very first year and laid steadily, even thru the winters. I don't recall ever not getting any for more than a couple months during a molt.... They seem fine, they are getting layer pellets. Their eggs have always been super hard. They aren't laying anywhere outside,... I know their tricks and they haven't been up to any (the snow just melted and we've had a lot of rain so its been really wet) No one is molting, their heads are bright/y colored (as bright as females get anyway). The youngest one (its her second winter). The Tom has been busy. All seems normal minus the lack of eggs. Maybe its nothing, just seems odd none of them are laying and the chickens started laying early march... I'll panacur everyone to be safe.
