Turkeys are sneaking into my chicken pen, scaring them and eating their food. Is this okay? Or should I take measures to scare them off? I like watching the turkeys, but read that they can share illnesses with my chickens. Is that true?

it is, to an extent. I think this is the chicken version of finding a cat on the freeway. you didn't want it, but that's how a surprising number of people get new pets.

They can share diseases. Could you make a small door that the turkeys can't fit through but the chickens can?

Yeah, I like wild turkeys a lot but it's best to keep them away since either party could carry diseases that get the other sick.

No more dangerous than having songbirds around. Those paranoid about illness typically have the most sickly of chickens
