Okay so one of the Turkeys just hatched, awesome, now leave it in there to dry right? Well... He is climbing all over the other eggs!!! What do i do?

that's normal - he shouldn't be able to hurt them any even though he may spin them like a top.

This is an age old debate on whether or not to use egg cartons for the hatch.

In any case - if you have any other pips be very careful opening the incubator - you will shrink wrap them.

So its best to just let the eggs get kicked around. They should be fine!

yep just leave it ,if its gets way to rowdy then u can pull it out quickly as a last resort but i would take the bator into the bathroom get it nice and steamy so u dont shrink wrap the rest of them, that is if they have pipped, if not u can grab it real quick like and u should be ok, happy hatchin

Yes, they'll climb all over everything. One reason why I hatch in cartons. They'll even climb over the eggs in the cartons.

I had three out in the box this morning. Hopefully will have more this evening. Unless there are so many out that they are too crowded I only take them out once a day. Just the fully dry ones.

Okay, I'm not hatching turkeys, just chicks, but...

I finally pulled six out this morning because they were playing soccer with the 14 other eggs. One had been in the bator for over 12 hours and it still wasn't dry (70+% humidity). They are all fine and now fluffed in the brooder

(praise God!). Why are you supposed to wait until they're dry? Is it because they'll get too cold, or are there other reasons???

Thanks!!!
