Turkey mating my shoe?

Our turkey tom is about 10 months old, he is a Sweetgrass. He lives with a few hens. Whenever I walk around in his pen he tries to mate my foot. Is this normal?

He thinks you're a turkey hen.
Not a good thing.... but better than thinking your another tom and attacking you... which may still happen

My boy does that too. I let him stomp it out on the shoes, it is a really lovely foot massage his stomping.

It never seems aggressive, so I assume it is better than him getting violent with the chickens.

I would like to find him a girlfriend though, loving my shoes is just not emotionally validating.

I don't know about normal, but it's not terribly uncommon. I once had a muscovy drake madly in love with a big blue winter housecoat I had. When I washed it he would happily sit out under the clothesline. Eventually he gave up and then fell in love with a far more available pair of rubber boots, which spent a lot of time out on the porch where he could snuggle them.

My Tom does the same. I can't leave shoes outside or he'll have his way with them. The other day he tried to hump my Miata.
