Turkey Molting?

So Toms loose feathers off of their bellies also? I thought loosing belly feathers was a sign of a broody hen? I am about to buy a tom turkey and they say he is loosing his belly feathers... makes me worried he is a hen.

A mature Tom will have no feathers on the upper neck, a big dangly snood, large fleshy neck caruncles and will probably puff up and strut when it sees you. OOPs--put post on the wrong thread SORRY

Hi, I was looking for an answer from someone! I have a Royal Palm hen that sat on eggs for over 2 months. She is bald from her legs to her mid section. I am wondering why and what I can do. If you had gotten any info please e-mail me at [email protected] Thank you!!

I have a Tom midget white turkey about 2 yrs old he is losing feathers including his tail feathers is this sickness or molting? My female just hatched a few chicks. It is just them 1 young female from the last hatching and a silky white chicken in the pen.

Most turkeys over a year will start to molt this time of year. Usually the toms molt first, than the hens.

Breeding pair. There were 2 Tom's until 3 days ago...is this common for feathers to look like this after Breeding season? Both male and female. Or do I have some sort of mite?

My apologies. I must have closed page before they loaded. First time posting pictures here.
