Turkey nest.

My 9 month old female Turkey is starting to build a nest and acting agressive towards the hens that go near it. She still hasn't let the Tom breed her (at least that I've seen). Should I be expecting eggs soon? Is there a chance he has been breeding her?

My 9 month old female Turkey is starting to build a nest and acting aggressive towards the hens that go near it. She still hasn't let the Tom breed her (at least that I've seen). Should I be expecting eggs soon? Is there a chance he has been breeding her?

Breeding quite often takes place without anyone seeing it happen. My current tom seems to prefer breeding at dawn. I know he has been breeding the hens by seeing the messed up feathers on their backs.

If she is making a nest, eggs should follow soon. Breeding can start as much as a month before egg laying begins.
