We got 7 turkey poults from MMH yesterday. Contrary to what I had read, they all immediately found the waterer and food and happily ate and drank without any coaxing from us. A few hours later, one little guy was spread eagled on his back and seemed to be dripping water form her nostrils. As soon as I picked her up, she perked right up and trotted off. I keep checking on her and she is some better, but still pretty lethargic. As soona s you wake her up, she runs around just like the others. They are all getting organic turkey starter, nothing else. I heard the poults are fragile, but wondering if there is anything I can do to help her? Is it possible she drank too much yesterday and got waterlogged? Otherwise they all seem ok-though they are much quieter and sleep mroe than the ducks and geese-is that normal? Everyone seems lively enough when you wake them up, and they are still eating and drinking. I think they are plenty warm-no one is huddling up under the heat lamp-they all tend to scatter around the wading pool I have them in.
