We had 2 naragannsett turkey poults (one male, one female) they were almost 9 weeks old. Found our dog over the bird, didn't see any "death" wounds but figured the neck was broken cause its head was limp. I skinned it and put it in the frig, didn't want to waste the good meat. Pitty, my son was crying and hating our dog, but can't help our dog is a bird dog, the chickens and ducks know to stay away but the turkey obviously didn't. The dogs are in a fenced yard but the birds can free range. I feel bad for her buddy, he is calling out for her and hiding under the porch. I told my son we could get more turkeys in the spring, kinda bummed today.
