I have about a 4 to 5 week old Standard or Broad Breasted Bronze. At about 2 weeks of age I notice sneezing and lost one poult suddenly, I went out and got Duramycin and started treating water immediately. Also, I know this is not exactly the right thing to do, but he is in with 3 chicks (one has been with him since the start as they were hatched together by a friend) and then 2 royal plams that are about the same age or a little older that we got the day before the one passed and they day we noticed the sneezing...all have been treated due to being together and sharing the same waterer and have showed no signs what so ever of being sick. Just the 2 turkeys I got from a friend. They have been on the antibiotic for 13 days and we are taking them off because its not working and only going to cause resistance...if it hasn't already!
Anyways, the turkey acts completely normal and eats constantly (why I think it could be BB) but he looks horrible and seems to be getting worse as far as looks. Still sneezes on occation but nothing significant like before. His eyes are still swollen and have scabs all around them that he scratches often. Yesterday it was noticed he has a black, almost mold like spot on his beak and the top of his head. I don't have pics becuase they are kept at my bf's house and he tried getting pics but they kept coming out blurry. I will try to get pics this weekend to post. (I know it make it difficult without seeing)
My question is has anyone heard of this? Should I try a different antibiotic (by seperating the poult by its self) or just let it runs its course and see what happens. He acts fine but like I said just looks miserable and I have no idea at this point what it could be. He still has watery runny eyes as well. Any help would be greathly appreciated!
