We rescued several turkey poults from our backyard. We thought why not keep them… thinking they’re around 6 weeks old, any advice on do and don’ts?

Lol, live rural and there are many poultry enthusiasts and breeders out here and no one has reported them missing. Not the first time, we’ve had many different birds come thru here - Guineas, peacocks, golden pheasants, etc. and our dogs almost got these guys… we have had chickens for years just not familiar with turkeys, any advice on raising turkeys?

If they are 6 weeks old they should be on a turkey or gamebird grower that is normally about 24% protein for the next 6 weeks. Once they are at least 3 months old, they can go on an adult feed. An all flock feed has the higher lysine, methionine and niacin levels that are good for them.

It sounds like one of your neighbors is missing these poults.
