Hello!

Just got 4 black turkeys; I don't have any roosting areas for them at the moment. We have a goat shed/barn for the goats and I'm thinking about putting roosting bars in there, but not sure if our new turkeys will go inside of it. Or maybe build some kind of 45 degree angle roosting area on the side of the shed outside..... Any ideas? Thanks so much!

Do you have them penned somewhere? Turkeys have been known to wander of from people. They can roost wherever you want them to stay at night. Leave them loose and they will seek out trees and tops of buildings. My turkey roosts are 2x4's with the 4 up.

Turkeys for the most part, prefer roosting as high as they can get. We raise Narragansetts, which roost outdoors even in the worst weather. We build the roosts a minimum of 6 feet off the ground... attached to a shelter as pictured.
