Turkey Run/Pen/Coop

We have a very large coop built with runs on each side and the coop separated down the middle for two different breeds of turkeys on each side. We are looking to expand by allowing them to partially free range in a fenced in area during the day and put them in the coop at night. There isn’t much on the internet for turkey care so I was looking to see if anyone on here had any advice or setups they would like to share! How tall to do the fence? Do we need to clip wings?

I don’t want to completely let them free range bc I am afraid of predation and them being drawn out by other wild turkeys.
All domestic turkeys are the breed Turkey. You have two different varieties of turkeys.

What size is this "very large coop"?

There is lots of information on the Internet about the care for turkeys. The Turkeys forum is just one such place as is Porter's Rare Heritage Turkeys.

You can check out @Huntmaster' set up by looking through his posts.

I use 2"x4"x6' welded wire for my perimeter fence. Do not use a top bar or rail as those provide attractive perches. If the turkeys get up and sit there, they will invariably get down on the wrong side of the fence.

Most turkeys prefer to roost outside and not in a coop. They are v ery cold tolerant but do need shade on sunny days.
