I contacted the feed company that produces my chicken layer pellets to see what they offer for turkeys. The turkey starter they make has a crude protein level of 29%. They say it is "mainly a corn and soybean meal based feed making the energy density high". It is also medicated with Deccox for the control of coccidiosis. Does this sound like a typical turkey poult starter? Just want to make sure I'm getting good feed to start with. I can get more information from them if it helps.

Thanks!

That sounds like great starter. You are lucky!!

I live in Oregon and I have been to over 7 feed stores (one has it's own grain mill) and no one carries turkey feed around here.
Plus most of the chicken feed comes in a powder form (to mashed) and my turkey's seem to prefer chunky (real food)
They all say that turkey's are the same as chickens!!

I did find 1 store but they only carry adult turkey feed and they are never open when I get to their town!!
