I just accuired a Narragansett Tom that is about 2 maybe 3 years old. I've always raised turkeys from a chick. So this is a first for me at this age. The previous owner didn't Handle him much if any and he is pretty skittish. Any suggestions on taming a grown turkey or is that just the way it is going to be?

I recently introduced three new Narragansetts to the one tom I had, they did not have much human contact and are very skittish also. Hope they come around eventually.

Think it just takes time and lots of goodies. If you can give them goodies on a schedule like same time everyday it will help them feel more secure and gain confidence. Most animals will respond to that. Just takes time.
