Turkey with yellow discharge from ear

I've got a 3 year old royal palm tom turkey. He had a scab on his ear the other day - I picked it off today and it was yellow scabby underneath and really stunk!! It doesn't look like infection, but don't know what else it could be. I applied some neosporin on the area but there is still a lot of yellow stuff in the opening. He's acting perfectly normal otherwise. Any suggestions?

someone told me that they had a rooster that sounded like this and the vet said it was casein buildup and he used an instrument and cleaned it out. I'm thinking infection because of the odor, but he's not acting sick in anyway.
