I'm thinking about getting some moer turkeys. Do all heritage breeds fly good or do some fly better than other breeds? they will prob be free range during the day.

i have blue slate turkeys.an i know they dont fly.lest ways i havent seen them fly.i know they jump on the fence to roost.buts thats about it.i know mine hate roosting in the henhouse.so i finally quit making them go into roost at nite.

I have narrgansette hens. Both are free range and can fly. They fly on top of the barn at night. I noticed that their having more trouble than usual. Maybe getting to big. They are over 1 year now.
The tom can't fly at all.
