Many people have no problem. I have had difficulties with turkeys bullying chickens in a free range situation. A friend lost a rooster to a turkey attack.
We're going to process and eat the remaining turkeys over the next couple of months, and only raise 3 or 4 a year, staring with babies in the spring so they grow up with the new chicks. If we allowed the ones we have now to survive through next year I have no doubt they would kill the baby chicks as we begin to let them out to free range at about 6 weeks of age. It is too bad, we have loved raising the turkeys and really enjoy their outgoing personalities.
