As for the preditor, you cant see it in the pic, but HOT WIRE EVERY WHERE.
Coyotes and fox and bobcats and an ocational gator are our big problem.
Electric fence stops them all, excludeing the gators. They kind of do what they want.
Nothing is going threw the top, as for the sides, you can do them out of anything, 2x4 welded wire, chain link, what ever. I would always but electric fence up though if you knowingly have preditors. I use one row at 6 inched or so and another at 12-15
This gets the diggers and the chewer, the lower one also helps with snakes
