Turkeys eat tons

:idunno

Is there anyway something else is getting into the feed? Not even my geese eat this much..

Do they free range? I don't know much about the breed, but my Eastern Wild turkeys hardly eat the feed at all. They rely on foraging for the most part. They also clean up all spills before eating directly from the feeder.

are they heritage or broad breasted meat breeds?

A full grown heritage turkey eats roughly 1/2 lb of food a day.

So assuming the males eat a little more and the female a little less they should average out to that. so 1.5 lbs of food a day

1.5 x 30 = 45 lbs of food a month. So they are eating what they should be. If you want less you are going to have to range them.

You have 3, I have 40 - I am going on week two of my feeder which i fill with 150 lbs of feed I may see another week yet out of it. Free Ranging works!

I think they said they have two, so they should only be going through 30 pounds a month.

Yes, free ranging definitely does work! They are great at finding their own food to eat. Definitely eat less than my cochins, but more than my silkies.
