No, please do not believe it. A fox took 2 of my half grown chinese goslings this spring.

Same day, my oldest daughter saw him taking the second baby right over a 6 ft fence.
They will scream an alarm and pack together, but a fox will kill them! I have kept geese all my life, as well as my parents, and grandparents.
My gander is one fierce goose, and will take on almost anything. These were his babies! No match for a fox. Electric fence is the safest choice, or a LGD.

This is NOT true. A certain type of predator will take down a goose. A goose cannot fight off a fox, dog, wolf. etc. However they are great at running off raccoons, possums and those type of predators (including people). They are excellent watch dogs in letting you know when someone comes on your property but they are not invincible. If you want that type of protection for your turkeys you may want to get a donkey, llama or great Pyrenees.

I am up to about 20 geese at this time and although I do not have a predator problem (fox, etc.) I don't have those type issues. I have seen my geese in action and I know the damage that they are capable of inflicting on people, other small animals and the tire of a Ford F-350. They are RUTHLESS. Heck, I'm scared of my own geese. :gig
