I am so sorry to hear that. How did he become blind? So he is eating and drinking every day? How big is the area that he is in? Poor baby.
He was born with blue eyes and his eyes stayed blue. I did some research on Porters website and he say's that the blue eyes used to be the standard. But they changed it to dark eyes. Many of the blue eyes slates are either blind or go blind. Well I already had two and I did not see a problem. I sold one to be processed already last week. But I tried to give him some bread with all the others today and I stuck it right in his nose and his beak, but he could not see it! The others ate it. But he was already used to his surroundings in the run before he lost his sight so he know where the food and water are. I see him eat and drink. But he cannot see anything even in his face.
My heart goes out to you! I know how hard it is to raise an animal, intending to keep it, getting attached to the sweet little guy and then having to put it down, but while it can bless your table, it's life will not be for nothing!
Thank you Celie, my heart is just not into processing him. He is only 5 months old and not alot of meat on the bones yet either. But I may sell him to someone that will process him? Idk Or I may just keep him.
