Thanks! These wild ones take off as soon as they see me. It will be interesting to see what they do if they meet up. Mine don't seem to wander too far and they still wait for me to lead them back to the barn.

Hi Bryce! Welcome from New York State (not the city). I just sold all my turkeys as I didn't have the room for all of them and my chickens. I have raised them for several years though and they have so much personality. You will really enjoy them. Be sure to post pictures too! sue

Oh I didn't realize you sold all your turkeys. Is it strange with out them?

Yes, I miss them a whole lot. I just didn't have enough room because they wouldn't leave my chickens alone. They kept stomping them. Everything is so quiet and no one is waiting at the door or looking in the windows every morning. I even had great luck hatching several doz of my own and selling them.

I once made a statement that turkeys were useless and then went on to buy several and just loved them. lol Next year I hope to build a turkey coop with their own enclosed pen or at least where they can't get to the chickens.

So, do turkeys not do well with chickens? I have mine with the chickens and so far things are OK. Is this something to look out for as they get older? Actually one of my tiniest roosters is trying to boss them around.

I have had chickens and turkeys for 1 1/2 years and they have all done fine together. My turkeys love to be around the chickens. When I let the turkeys out to free range they end up hanging around the chicken yard all day.
