[edit] Pronunciation
In Europe (including the United Kingdom), the original French spelling, coupé, and a French pronunciation (English koo-pay IPA: /kuːpeɪ/), are used. The stress may be on either the first or second syllable; stressing the first syllable is the more Anglicized variant. Most speakers of North American English, at this time, pronounce coupé as "coop" (/kuːp/) and spell it without the acute accent (coupe). This was a gradual change from the original French pronunciation occurring prior to World War II.[1] A very North American example of usage is the hot-rodders' term Deuce Coupe ("doose coop") used to refer to a 1932 Ford.

They already know I'm not the same as them.

Besides, I keep my chickens in a coop - I certainly wouldn't DRIVE one.

IDK...I feed my animals in the morning before I go to work, so I basically change in my car when I'm done. After riding around with those boots in there, sometimes my car smells like a coop, or pig pen. HA!!!

Call it a STY - we can't mess that up (or can we... say EYE just in case)

Incidentally, it's spelled "toupee" (or toupée) for the men's hair piece, which is why it is pronounced "too-pay." If it was spelled "toupe" it would likely be pronounced "toop." This is reflected in other similar words, like brulée (as in crème brulée), and jetée for the ballet move.

Loupe (pronounced loop) is the single magnifying lens thing you look through with just one eye.

Troupe (pronounced troop) describes a group of people doing something, usually like a dance troupe or a musical troupe.

So more generally, words that end in "-oupee" and "oupe" are pronounced with the "-oo-pay" and "-oop" sounds.

As the post from WildSky says, most North Americans pronounce it "coop" like the Beach Boys song..."she's my little deuce coupe..." because it lost the accent. In Europe it is coupé and pronounced coo-pay, but we lost the accent here and generally pronounce it coop. If you wanted to pronounce it coo-pay, you should spell it with the accent: coupé.
