I am currently hatching Pencilled Palms, Self-Blue Slates and Auburns. I already have some other you turkeys. I have 4 Broadbreasted Whites for the freezer, a Pencilled Palm tom, a Blue Slate tom and 4 Bourben Red poults. We're trying to get some heritage birds to give us our own fertilized eggs for next year.

We're up to 7 newbies, 1 zip and 1 pip at the moment.

Well, 7 healthy newbies and 3 fully zipped. The first of the Auburns is hatching. What a relief that this hatch is going well. Turkey eggs are very expensive and if the hatch fails it's a lot of money lost.

Congrats on your hatch!

I would love to try some turkeys but I really need to get alot more experience before I can justify the $$.

They are such cute babies!

I now have 10 poults from this batch. I just checked the shells and it looks like I have 9 PP and 2 Auburn. It doesn't appear that any BS hatched even though one is completely white. I'll leave the rest of the eggs through tomorrow, but really don't expect any more to hatch.
