We have been raising our own birds for a while and never experienced this in such high numbers before. Ducks and Chickens hatching without issue. I have them in separate incubators with conditions pretty regulated.

Problem: Turkeys are having their membranes within the shell dry and harden around them like little mummies. I thought it was a humidity problem but have it up over 75% and temp at 100. This issue is hitting about 50% of my potential hatchlings with 45 Narraganset eggs in the incubator. 4 hatched, 5 hatching, 3 of the ones hatching looking like they are going to get mummified. I have been sprinkling water on the dry membrane and one has come out as a result.
Does anyone have any suggestions or experience with this issue?

Put oil or even lotion on the membranes. It'll keep them moist, and you won't have to reapply so frequently. You know how when you put water on your hands, the skin actually dries out faster? And since it's evaporating, it's cooling down the egg.

Appreciate the response. will try some mineral oil.
