Turkeys with sores coming up.

These are Bourbon Reds and then some Standard Blacks in a brooder. I have ducks, chickens, turkeys, peafowl, and geese, but the turkeys are the only ones coming down with these. The Blacks are in a brooder still, but the Reds are free ranging. They're both coming down with the same things, but they aren't in real contact with one another. The do not show any other signs of ill health. No drooping. No lack of energy. No change in appetite or anything.

My birds sometimes get this pox type thing, it seems to run its course, and doesn't seem to have any lasting affects, it seems to pop up in late summer to fall, though I have never had it in such young birds, not sure what it is, I'm sure I'll get educated by someone, mine will also get a swollen shut eye, so don't be surprised if that happens, as I said I never treat it, but we'll see what others say.

Thank you. I don't see it in any of my other fowl so it just seems odd, especially since the ones in the brooder and the ones out on pasture don't really come in contact with one another.

Only my turkeys get it, according to my guide on raising turkeys it's a fowl pox, the dry type, brought in by wild birds or on the wind, it will run its course, you can treat with antibiotics but this isn't treating the pox it says it's to reduce stress, don't know, there's a vaccine, so I would let it go unless they are looking stressed or listless, it should clear up in a week or two, the sores will become scabs, then fall off .

Nah... other than the horrible appearance, they seem happy as can be.

I have a Tom with this right now, he looks like Rocky Balboa at the end of the fight, it will get better. Good luck
