Turkeys are one of the sweetest animals ever, I raised a turkey and it was like a little puppy. It followed me and never pecked or bit me. You should definitely get a turkey!

they are very noisy, and fly up on stuff and poop on it. If you have more than one tom, they can fight a lot. They can sometimes injure your chickens if you have those. Everything everyone else said so far is true too. They are fun, funny, entertaining and beautiful. Did I mention they are beautiful???

I bought my two first turkey poults ever this past May. I've raised them with chickens. Here in Ohio, we haven't really had problems with blackhead disease, which chickens can transmit to turkeys.

Anyhow, I LOVE LOVE LOVE my turkeys! One is a Blue Slate, and the other is a Royal Palm. They are very well mannered, and they make the cutest, most interesting noises. They will call back to me if I whistle to them. They do fly, but they always stay close around. They seem to be fine with the chickens.

They're friendly, but also a bit timid. They follow me around. I recently added a few chickens to the flock and they were very curious about them......Kept getting close and looking at them right up close, but they were pretty gentle.

So I would say, YES! Get a turkey!

some people will say they transfer blackhead but we just give them sulmet maybe once a month and no problems so far. i love the turkeys they are very sweet.
