So I just bought 2 of the cutest baby turkeys. I'm super sad cuz I found out they're double breasted

Is there any possible way I could keep them as pets? and does any body know exactly why their not pet material? PLEASE HELP!!!!!

I think the only reason people say they don't make good pets is because of the health problems. They can be very short lived because of the way they have been bred to gain so much weight so fast. They will often lose the ability to walk and will then have to be put down. I did know someone who had one as a pet and she was sweet but at 3 yrs old she was very slow moving, already having mobility issues, but she would walk up and stick her head under your hand to be petted and fussed over. I have a broad breasted white hen who escaped from a processing plant, her prognosis was similar, although not quite as grim as the double breasted. She has actually made it to the ripe old age of 9 and is still walking, but we have kept her as lean as we could and encouraged as much foraging as possible (good exercise and salad). Good luck with them, I hope you are able to give them a good life, our girl was hatchery raised and still ended up very sweet.
