Turmeric

hello I have a bantam hen(momma) that is less than a 1lb in weight about 0.853lbs at the moment,I want to give her tumeric for she has chronic inflammation in her body is what a blood test at the vet showed, she is having diahrea as well and is losing weight even though she is eating/drinking.ive been giving her pre and probiotics with cinnamon essential oil & ACV in her water for awhile now and she is still losing weight,I think the inflammation may be starting to go down just a tad bit but not sure?I just ordered electrolytes/vitamins cause I was thinking with all the diahrea maybe an electrolyte/vitamin mix would help, wondering if she isn't obsorbing the nutrients of her feed well due to the diahrea and maybe that's why she is losing weight?so to help even further I'd like to feed her tumeric/black pepper but am curious if anyone knows how much I would feed her?I need an easy explanation for I have a brain injury and complicated math will be too much for me!I just started switching my hens over to new organic feed for which they love but am mixing it in with there original sub par feed that I bought last June(maybe it's the old feed causing issues as well)to slowly transition them over.my other hen(Franny the granny) is a lil over 1.6 lbs curious how much I would feed her as well, she has a respiratory infection for which she's on antibiotics for about 12 days now(second round, she was on them for 20days the first round) but there not really doing the trick so wanted to boost her immune system as well to help her fight this off better!was planning on mixing it into coconut oil to feed rhem, how much per each hens weight would indeed this as well?I usually give momma about an 1/8 of a tsp.. any help is very much appreciated, thank you🐔💞🐔

I've seen turmeric used in studies frequently at 1% of feed, or to put it another way that would be 10 grams of turmeric per kilogram of feed. If you have a kitchen scale and can measure out 1 kg on it, then you can mix in 10 grams of turmeric. That would probably be a good place to start. I've seen black pepper used at 5g per kg (.5%). There are a surprising number of studies looking at turmeric as a replacement for antibiotic growth promoters in India. You could also try ginger at 2-5 grams/kilogram of feed, for another anti-inflammatory herb. These herbs also increase feed conversion ratio in studies and have a lot of other benefits. Be sure the turmeric you get has been tested for heavy metals, that's the biggest downside with ayurvedic herbs.

thabk you for your reply:)I'm curious if I was

mixing this into mash if the weight/feed ratio would be the same since the mash has water added to it therefore it's heavier than dry feed?also I was thinking of mixing it into coconut oil and feeding it to them(both are different weights so not sure if I feed them different amounts?)cause I know Franny won't eat it in mash she is very picky about food but loves coconut oil and I feel momma would be more likely to eat it in coconut oil as well so curious if you have any suggestions on these things?would about a lil under half of an 1/8 of a tsp be a safe dose of all three tumeric, blac pepper, and ginger mixed in about a lil over an 1/8 a tsp of coconut oil?this math is easier for me to do and I also want to try both in mash and in coconut oil to see which one they will actually eat?any help is very much appreciated, thank you so much @Rurumo

Make a dense planting of it and your chooks will love to run around in the mini jungle as well.
Very very easy plant to grow if you're in a warmer climate.
Mine are more fond of it if I boil it first. But they will still have a peck raw.
