Turn..up..the..RADIO!!

We had an issue in our barn where I have grow out pens and brooder boxes because the backside has a stall for the donkeys and our dogs can't access the barn or donkey pasture.
Critters where coming in and I couldn't do much because donkeys needed access. Before completely enclosing the stall I put in a radio because it was cheap and easy and I grow up around people using them.
That was probably 5 years ago and its still going strong and I haven't had issues since. So IDK but I think I'll continue playing it.

So did you see any difference in volume of predators on your cams from with radio to without?
There didn't seem to be as many.
I tried talk radio for a little while and it seemed to work I guess...no predators then. Rush Limbaugh must have been quite intimidating!
I had the same station on "The Sky".

I thought hearing voices might be a little more intimidating if they heard voices instead of music.

I could see this working temporarily, but like anything else, I'd think the preds would eventually become acclimated to it
Well, my in-laws have farmed for three generations...dairy cows, chickens, pigs, and a variety others. My point was that they’ve used the radio...it doesn’t need to be loud..it even the think people are in there...all together !! But it has worked for them for the three generations....with big and small animals. I use it to protect goats and pot belly pigs too!

Actually yes, if it’s a little louder there’s absolutely no activity. Same with over by the chickens..and they free range during the day..same with the ducks..but the ducks get out of earshot. But, with the music, it has been surprisingly safer..and sooo simple. I suppose it was from my in- laws long before they had the money for fancy fencing

I don't like Kpop either, so annoying (And I'm not even old ;)) Try something that has more *talk* in it. That's actually a pretty smart Idea though, but I don't think It'd scare away the bobcats, my brothers girl friend talks to the bobcats
How is it annoying? I didn't know music could talk :0

This sounds like a pretty decent idea, perhaps ill set one up on a motion sensor, ive been planning to do this for some time with a light, trick would be finding a radio with actual buttons and knobs I guess. My grandparents had one that i used to use in the garage after they retired it. Then along came Bluetooth and pandora and I haven’t looked back.

I think some alarm clocks still have a radio built into them.

If you hooked it up to a motion sensor that provides power or cuts off the power, it would usually end up showing the wrong time, but that probably wouldn't matter if you just want the sound.
