got the sponges in now hoping to raise it today. really need to get this up so that they can hatch!!!

If you can, take it into the bathroom and turn on the shower. I always hatch in my bathroom because it's easier for me to adjust the humidity this way. Also remember it will climb a bit during the hatch so don't go too high with it. Good luck!

It is best to line the top of the wire with papertowels. That keeps your bator clean (stuck on egg is hard to clean), and also makes it easy to keep humidity high. Just spray paper towels with warm water.

I will never hatch on paper towels again. My last hatch as they were trying to zip if an open part of the egg touched the towel it sucked all the moisture out of the egg and they got stuck - literally - to the bator floor through the towel. had to pry them up with a chopstick through the vent hole. Humidity in the bator was good too - 65%.

Sponges under the vent hole work great. Then you can add more water to them with an eyedropper or turkey baster if they dry out.

moved the bator to the bathroom, got vaporizer running to help, up to 60% now and 1 egg is zipped and on the way out. hopefully the first of many to hatch.

for anyone still following this post.......1 chick hatched and looks great and another egg has pipped! I am starting to get my hopes up that this hatch will maybe be a success
