*sigh* why why why....
I discovered that my turner had been turned off by accident probably Monday or Tuesday.... How much will 3 days offline affect hatching do you thinK?
3/4 of these eggs were just put in on Saturday... the other 1/4 were transfered from a stryo that started hatching Sunday... The eggs transfered are of course Turkey and duck... the more valuable to me eggs... Theya re due to hatch this coming Sunday.... I discovered it today when I went to switch them from turning trays to hatching trays for lockdown.... ugg.... It just one thing after another.... heating element... cold spot... I get all that ironed out and now this( ahah now that I think about it I wonder if it got shut off during the element repair.....)

Ugh..had that happen too. It shouldn't be too bad on the eggs that are about to hatch. Might get a few less of the newer ones put in though. 3 days is not really all that bad for not turning. Be glad it wasn't the bator that was unplugged!

I hatched out 11 chicks last month and found out 3 days before that the turner hadn't been on the entire hatch! It was only because I mommied them like crazy and picked them up every day to candle them that they hatched! Thank goodness, right?

well these have been handled some ot candle recently so hopefully that helped a bit... I was worried about the OTHER incubators turner and thought it had stopped working... Then when I went to open the cabinet today I realised that the thermometer on top of th eggs that scooches around some hadnt moved AT ALL... yikes... So all the turners are funtioning and we are ready for lockdown though Im worried about my humidity levels.... Maybe opening back up tommorow and taking the chance to put a little himidifier in ther and a remote thermometer so I can stare at the temps and not have to open the incubator.... 21 and 28 days is a LOT of time to stare at eggs.... yikes...

You can wet sponges and washclothes with warmer water and put in there to to try and up the humidity.

I have the thing stuffed with wet sponges and have an extra pan of water in the bottom and it still getting lower than I think it should... we shall see how well things go.... Our region is usually super dry but right now we are getting drenched in record rains.... so maybe the humidity being so high right now will help... haha.
