Yetti, THANKS for the info.

We have been trying to think of a way to box in the outlet and the fencer, but did not even think about that ground wire being a play thing for them.

I am not as worried about the calk on the inside floor, it is more for my piece of mind...we calked the entire outside. But it would be nice to think they'd not mess with it.

Your husband really does love you. What a good guy! The shed looks great. I remember reading the thread when you were asking for advice. You guys did such a good job!

Thanks! While my husband is very handy, we have never had to build a duck house. The advice we got here was instrumental!!!

You all rock!!!!!!

Yetti (or anyone else)

I am stuck on that ground wire thing................

Do you think if I nail up wire mesh over it (like what we have for the "windows") that the ducks will not be able to get to it.

I don't think we can angle a 2x4 (on a 45) over that..........That is another (easier) option if it works.

Anyone else have other ideas?

(we still have to figure out how to cover the outlet and fencer

That safety outlet cover is GREAT! Thank you for the link!!!

A fencer is the thing to make the shcoks on the hot wire fence!

I guess it is really called a fence charger.

If I remember right...........touching the terminals (the rods under the red and green things) seperate or together I do not remember will give you a shock. So we need to cover it some how. Right now we do not have it plugged in. The horses respect the fence so we turn it off a lot, that way I do not get shocked by it........ya, the fence LOVES to zap me!

Could you mount the fencer inside a plastic tote? They're easy to drill holes in for whatever wires need to come out of it. And you could use the lid as a cover for the front.

That is such a smart idea what you did with the food and water. I may use that idea for my chickens.
