Do you like to turn 90 degrees or 180 degrees? i.e., should my x be on the side after turn or on the bottom?

Most turn 180. I don't think 90 is sufficient unless you have 4 different positions and turn more frequently.
At first I put a 1,2 and 3 on the sides rather than X and O. That way I had 3 different positions.

If you are incubating upright in a turner or egg cartons they need to be tilted at 90 degree angles. If you are incubating them laying down, common practice is to rotate them 180 degrees. I agree with CC. If you are rotating less than 180, you would want to make sure that you are turning more often to get the full revolutions in.

Thanks for the replies, you two! They are on their sides, and the turner was only turning them 1/4 turn, but as soon as I read Canoe's post, I adjusted it, so now they turn the full 180! Amylynn, thanks for the clarity and reiteration--hatching for the first time, so I'm super nervous. I'm glad I asked right when I put them in, so they've had the benefit of you two's knowledge from the beginning! Thanks!
